In the early 1800s, clothing was made by hand, families sewed their pants, shirts, and dresses using a needle and thread. But in 1846 Elias Howe changed all that, he came up with another way to make clothes, he patented the first practical sewing machine. The sewing machine industry based on his original invention made possible the mass production of clothing on a much larger scale than had ever been possible with hand-stitching.

I have a battery operated Husqvarna 1100 toy sewing machine. It was made by the Frankonia Toys. I would like to find when it was made and if there is a manual that goes with the little machine.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I just found a green cast metal sewing machine with instruction booklet calling it "The Miniature Sewing Machine." Image searches indicate it might be a Pallitoy manufactured in the 1950s in Japan? Any info would be much appreciated.
►reply: Yes, Palitoy made toy sewing machines in the 1950s. There are collectors of these machines and can fetch (depending on state, box, etc.) between 20 to 150 USD.
