Horsman dolls Inc.

In 1865, Edward Imeson Horsman started a toy and doll company in New York City and became a leader in the doll industry.

Babyland Rag Dolls

In the beginning, they produced the trademarked name of 'Babyland Rag Dolls' an all cloth doll, a variety of Mama and Baby composition dolls wearing painted or molded hair, wigs, and sleepy (painted) eyes.

Can't break Em' dolls

From 1909 the toy firm used a new production process to make the 'Can't break Em' dolls. In the 1930s Horsman bought the Louis Amberg & Son doll company which was their competitor at the time and continued to make some of their dolls, notably the Vanta Baby.

In October 1933 Horsman was purchased and became a subsidiary of the Regal Doll Manufacturing Company. By the 1980's the Horsman name was sold to an Asian company and produced dolls under the name 'Horsman Ltd.'. Today the dolls are made in Hong Kong.

Do you know what year this doll would be? 19" Back of neck mark is E.I.H.CO.INC. above that is a letter C with a circle around it. 3 teeth visible. No hair but a cork-looking thing on top under bonnet. Dress and bonnet are teal, pink, various colors. Closes eyes. Fabric body composite arms legs head.
No idea, sorry. The C in a circle is probably the copyright sign.

I have a 1967 Horsman Doll . She is approximately 18" long, blue eyes and an orange dress with lace on it. She has a recorder in her and did cry when new. But the recorder no longer works. The number on her head is 2733 and reads 15 eye under that. She also has a 20 stamped on her head just above the Horsman Name. I am trying to find out how many were made, the original price of the doll in 1967, and if the recorder in her can be fixed? Any help in this matter is appreciated.

I inherited a Horsman doll when my step-mother passed away a few years ago. I would appreciate help identifying it and selling it. I am not interested in making money off of it, I just want it to go to someone who wants it, rather than donating it to Goodwill or throwing it in the trash. It's about 21" long, with a nice white dress and dark hair in ringlets. Thank you for your help with this.

I have a doll that is dressed in plaid with an arm wrapped up as if broken. The back of his neck actually says Horsnam which is a misspelling. He also has a plaid hat, red shirt, and plaid shorts. Not sure of year. Also has the numbers 67111 and 2508 EYE on it.
I've searched but I'm afraid I can't find anything on your misspelled 'horsnam' doll. I did find 67111 though, a black doll with a price of around 15 USD but not sure if that's yours.

I have had a Horsman doll for about 50 years, given to me by my grandmother. She has been dressed in authentic nun habit, probably done by a local sister. She is still in the original Horsman box, although the transparent cellophane has been torn off. How would I find a value, if any?
You could follow the listing with a Horsman nun to see where the bidding ends: Horsman nun.

I inherited 2 horsman dolls, most likely from the 1920s. One has a cloth tag, possible porcelain in good shape. The other has eyes the open and close and 2 teeth showing. Is the a wholesale buyer I can sell these to? I'm not interested in putting them on ebay, craigslist, etc.
Not sure, I'm sorry. You could search on Google for 'we buy antique dolls', maybe you'll find a wholesale buyer.
